The aim of the New Ism is to create a new economic system with inclusivity at its heart. Some of the world’s most innovative and exciting minds are creating solutions to fix our broken society, but they are working in spite of the current system. We want a new economy – a New Ism – that empowers them and brings their efforts together so that they can change the world.

We can’t do this alone, so we are enlisting the help of these social entrepreneurs themselves, and other great thinkers and decision-makers, to discuss the issues and the potential for change. We host a regular podcast where our founders Mel (a social entrepreneur himself) and Alex interview some of the world’s most exciting social innovators and big thinkers about their plans, their hopes and their ambitions, and their motivation for pouring their hearts and souls into what they do, bringing together leading social entrepreneurs, trailblazers and decision-makers to debate how to create a better society, based on the social innovation that already exists. These events nurture great thinking, challenge the status quo and allow socially driven people to meet and share ideas.

The discussions may discuss gang culture one week and Fair Trade the next, but what ties them all together is a profound belief that a system that works for everyone is within our grasp, if we can learn how to harness our collective innovation and creativity.

Our conversations will give us rich insight into what needs to be done to create a fairer economy, and each year we will bring together our learnings and recommendations into an annual review, to be shared with people who can make them a reality.
